Liverpool star Fabinho has claimed Chelsea could regret their failure to give Tiemoue Bakayoko a chance to prove his mettle at the club, per report.
After leading Monaco the Ligue One conquest, Bakayoko joined Chelsea in the summer of 2017 under the auspices of Antonio Conte but he has divided opinion of pundits and fans with strings of below par performances.
Bakayoko did not get a call up to the squad of France that conquered the World Cup and on his appointment as the manager of Chelsea, Sarri did not factor in the 24–year-old midfielder into his plan. He joined AC Milan on a season long loan deal this term.
‘I don’t think he struggled that much,’ Fabinho told Yahoo. ‘I watched a few games and he seemed always good to me.
‘Obviously, in your first season in a new club it’s always difficult and I wasn’t expecting him to leave, but AC Milan are getting a great player.
‘I’m sure he’ll be able to prove how good he is and show what he did at Monaco. ‘I’m sure if he comes back to England he will be stronger and will show everyone what he’s capable of.’
Fabinho joined Liverpool this term and he has failed to impress Jurgen Klopp like his former teammate at Chelsea did.
Meanwhile, Chelsea signed on two midfielders this term and the players have so far proved their mettle as top-notch footballers.
