It is now only a matter of when and not if Lucas Perez will seal a transfer away from Arsenal.
There are conflicting reports emanating from the press, with some claiming the Gunners have accepted a bid from Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon for the transfer of the player, while others have claimed he is nearing a move to Premier league side West Ham United.
Nonetheless, according to latest reports, the agent of the Spanish striker Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle has quashed claims that his client is nearing a move to Lisbon, with claims that no deal has been agreed.
Perez joined Arsenal in the penultimate summer from Deportivo Lacuruna in a £17m deal but after failing to convince Arsene Wenger, he was loan backed to his former club last season, where he put up performances that had nothing to cheer about.
He returned to Arsenal this summer and it was claimed that Unai Emery could hand him a chance to shine. The Spanish tactician had the player on his radar while he was on the reigns of Paris Saint Germain.
While A Bola has claimed that the Gunners have accepted a €6m (£5.4m) bid for the 29-year-old, his agent Lovelle denied the claim.
“I have never spoken with anyone about Sporting,”he said.
Emery has not ruled out the signing of new players to his otherwise strong squad, and he also revealed that some players could leave before the close of the window.
“My focus is on the first match and preparing, and not for the window and the possibility to sign another player. Maybe we need some players to leave because we have lots in the squad, but at the moment, my one focus is on our work.” Emery Said.
