Manchester United will trigger the release clause of Italy and Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini’ in the coming summer, this is according to reports.
Pellegrini is a highly-technical star that is blessed with the ability to play in any position in a three man midfield. He has featured in 10 League games for Roma this term and the rising star is one of the best midfield prospect in the Seria A.
Although United signed Fred in the summer, the player is yet to stamp his authority in the first team of the side and Mourinho isn’t impressed with him. Mourinho has preferred Matic and Pogba combination in midfield but the duo have failed to deliver.
According to the Daily Mirror, the release clause of the player will be due for activation next summer and United are in the front queue of his chase.
He is valued at a paltry £26.5million in this era while footballers of his quality are priced at exorbitant mount. If United signs him, it would be massive steal for the club.
Mourinho bemoaned the dearth of transfer activities at United in the summer, and it appears that the top brass of the club will compensate him with one or two signings in the January transfer window.
