Bellerin’s replacement? Arsenal to agree deal for £27m-rated versatile star

Arsenal are weighing in on a deal for Algerian and Real Betis full back Aissa Mandi, this is according to reports.

The Gunners have one of the worse defends in the Premier League. Injuries to Rob Holding and Hector Bellerin have only compounded their problems.

Bellerin tore his anterior cruciate Ligament in Arsenal’s win over Chelsea and he is not expected to be back until next season.

Although, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Maitland-Niles plays in similar position, they have proven to be unreliable, hence, the Gunners are in the market for right back.

While Denis Suarez appear to be top choice for Arsenal in this window, The Sun have cited a report from Spanish outlet El Desmarque claiming we want to sign Mandi from Betis.

Emery truthfully revealed the club are not in a position sign any player on a permanent basis this month because of the lack of funds. But he admitted that they are open to signing more than a player albeit on loan.

The defender contract will run until 2012 and he has a  £27m release clause – Arsenal are likely going to wait until the summer to sign him.

Standing at 6ft1, he can play as a centre-back but he’s more of a natural full back.
