After enduring a difficult start to his Premier league’s career, Spain and Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata might be heading out of Stamford Bridge this summer. The player who joined Chelsea for a club-record fee of £80m is reportedly heading back to Real Madrid ahead of next season.
Despite a bright start to the season where he scored six goals in his first six matches for the Blues, Morata become more tired due to the physical-demanding nature of the league and he later picked up an injury which later add to his dwindling form.
Having returned from his short-spell injury, the 25-year-old failed to find the back of the net in three months before finding scoring against Tottenham last season. After 40 matches for the Blues in all competitions this season, Morata has only managed to convert 14 shots.
His uninspiring form is not just affecting his future at the Stamford Bridge, but it is also having a negative impact on his national career as he has a very slim chance of making Spain’s world cup squad after being left out of the team’s friendlies matches last month.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to sell him to the Los Blancos, who have shown interest to re-sign their former striker and according to Daily Mail, Chelsea might record a loss of £10m from the deal due to the player’s drop in form.
