Bad news: Arsenal insider confirms imminent departure of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil

The fans of Arsenal were treated to a thrilling start in the Premier League after the Gunners came from behind twice to beat dethroned league Champions Leicester City 4-3 in their league opener.

While the fans of Arsenal are yet basking in the ambiance of that win, there are indications that Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are on the verge of exiting the Emirates, as revealed by the Gunners former defender Martin Keown.

Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have been heavily linked with a move away from the club and this follows from their refusal to put pen to paper on contract extension deal.

Reports emerged last week that Mesut Ozil had asked his agent to broker a deal with Barcelona for a move away from the club. Although, nothing has been heard since that report surfaced but it appears that the Germany international is fed up with life at Arsenal having endured so much criticism from the fans.

Meanwhile Alexis Sanchez also fueled speculation that he wants out of Arsenal when he tweeted from Paris over the weekend. He has been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain and there are theories that he has started discussing a possible move with the Parc des Princes outfit.

Keown has made bare his mind regarding the players situation at Arsenal. He spoke to BBC Radio’s 5 Live and he said

“If they can get £50m for him, they would have taken it, would’t they?

“I don’t believe they’ve had that kind of offer, he [Sanchez] has one year left, and can Arsenal afford him anyway?

“There’s talk of £15m a season in wages, that’s £60m. I think Arsene Wenger thinks, ‘I’ve got him now, I’ve got him almost on the cheap, he’s done really well for me, let’s keep him for one more year – that’s 50 per cent of my time I’m going to be the manager of Arsenal.

“Ozil, as well, he’s another one. He’s seemed to have sort of paled into the background a little bit now.

“I think both players are heading for the exit door, and they’ll do it when Wenger decides not when they decide.”
