Chelsea’s appointment of Antonio Conte last summer signaled the beginning of a new era for the Club but his reign may come to an abrupt end sooner, this is according to report.
There was so much speculation regarding the future of Conte earlier this summer but the Italian tactician agreed to put pen to paper on a contract extension and that quelled the rumours surrounding his future.
However, there were challenges at the club and it was claimed that Conte was unhappy at the turn of events the club and his expectation was not met. According to Yahoo sport, Conte had decided to leave Chelsea after delivering the Premier League title to Abramovich and now his future has suddenly become a doubt.
There has been a dearth of transfer activities at Chelsea despite the large chunk of funds recouped in the sales of players and this has not gone down well with Conte. Chelsea’s lost to Burnley in their Premier League opener was a justification that the squad lacked depth and may not be able to cope with the demands of competing in the Premier League and the other competitions.
The transfer window is only a fortnight away from being shut and if Chelsea fails to add to new signing(s) to their otherwise thin squad, it may see the relationship between Conte and Chelsea’s board descend to the lowest point.
According to Yahoo Sport, Conte may be not be able to cope with the current ball game at Chelsea.
“This is the kind of situation Antonio cannot cope with,” a source told Yahoo Sport. “When he starts losing matches that is when he gets really crazy.
“It’s impossible to assess what it will take to calm him down.
“When Antonio is in such a state of mind he makes himself hard to cope with everyone, and everything.
“He starts getting angry at staff, players, and others.”
