With few weeks to the start of the 2017/2018 season, Arsene Wenger has set winning the Premier League as his priority.
The Gunners will compete in the English top flight, the FA Cup, the EFL and the Europa League next season. And after failing to win the Premier League in the last 13 years and missing out on the Champions League next season, the French boss is under intense pressure to turn things around at the club.
Calls from some of the supporters to sack Wenger last season were rebuffed by the club management and he was handed another two-year contract extension despite their disappointed campaign, save for the FA Cup won at the end of the season.
As per the Express, Wenger is desperate to win the Premier League title next season and as a result will limit his star players to league appearances while the youngsters take the centre stage in the Europa League.
Arsenal have fervently faltered mid-way through the season and Wenger appear to have made that decision to prevent such scenario from repeating itself. However, the reports also claim Wenger may later involve his stars if they get to the advanced stages.
Arsenal are taking a cue from Manchester United who finished sixth in the Premier League last season but secured a place in the Champions League after winning the Europa League and the Gunners want to thread the same path if their season didn’t go as planned.
