Arsenal will play host to Manchester City in a Premier League crunch tie this Sunday. Arsenal’s season has been marred by a series of underwhelming performances both in the League and Champions League – this leaves Arsenal wallowing in sixth position on the EPL Log and any result other than a win over the Citizens will truncate the possibility of ending the season among the top four of the League.
Manchester City have been doing better than Arsenal in the League. Although they drew their last two games, Guardiola’s men have won three of their last five League games and sit two points adrift Tottenham in third position. Meanwhile, Arsenal have managed just a win in their last five games among four defeats in five League games.
Santi Cazorla is the only long-term absentee for Arsenal. Petr Cech picked up a calf injury recently and is definitely out of the game. Lucas Perez is a doubt but in the absence of the aforementioned players, Wenger has enough bodies to give City a run for their money. For Manchester City, IIkay Gundogan and Gabriel Jesus are out of the season while De Bruyne is said to be recovering from a groin strain.
Manchester City have won just one of their last eight meetings with Arsenal, and this win has come under the watch of Pep Guardiola this season. The Gunners have won four of their last eight games with City with three of those wins coming at the Emirates Stadium. Although Arsenal are experiencing a deep in form, the players will be looking to salvage their season.
Arsenal must look out for threats from David Silva and Sergio Aguerro. Players like Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will be heavily relied on to pull impressive strings for Arsenal.
