Lyon’s Houssem Aouar grabbed the headlines after an European golden performance in the Champions League for the French outfit against Manchester City on Wednesday night.
His performance further soared interests in his services, adding extra length to the queue of clubs lined up for his signature.
The 20-year-old gathered interests in the summer however, that has hugely swelled as transfer business is about to get underway.
Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City have all been credited with interest. The latter is already in the running for his services, and according to reports have contacted the player’s representatives.
Liverpool have been keeping tabs on the young midfielder for over two years, while Chelsea saw a lodged bid rejected by Lyon.
But it is Arsenal who have picked up a sudden interest in the star. The 20-year-old is on the radar of the Gunners, says French outlet L’Equipe.
It will be difficult however, for clubs to haggle or hammer out a deal with Lyon over the star. Lyon is not prepared to lose the rising midfielder and have reportedly been in touch with the player’s reps to secure his future.
Aouar is talented and young, and replete with huge potential, a move to Arsenal could see him develop into one of the best centres in the Premier League under Unai Emery.
