Arsenal to agree €35m deal for 6th summer signing

Italian outfit Roma has entered the race for Arsenal’s primary midfield target Steven N’Zonzi.

According to reports milling out from the rumour factory, the Gunners are set to face a stiff bidder for the Frenchman’s signature in Italian side AS Roma.

N’Zonzi delivered outstandingly in the recently concluded 2018 World Cup for Les Bleus, helping them win the coveted trophy in Russia.

It is not surprising the Serie A giants are trying to pedal faster in the bid to sign him ahead of Arsenal, after his screaming performance for France at the middle of the park in Russia.

Steven N’Zonzi release clause has been set at 35 million euros and it is understood that could trigger his buy by the Serie A outfit.

Unai Emery is keen on still increasing the options in the centre of the park, despite poaching Lucas Torreira.

The Spaniard is eyeing a reunion with the Sevilla star and will attempt to sign him this summer.

Roma want a candidate who can partner Daniele De Rossi, and N’Zonzi is the pick of the bunch.

It is understood the France international will demand a salary below the 5 million euros mark.

For both European heavyweights, it is a sweet deal, however Arsenal will have to move in quickly if they are to snap him up under Roma’s noses.
