Arsenal to agree deal for the transfer of left wing back

Barcelona are weighing on a deal for Spanish and Arsenal left back Nacho Monreal, this is according to report.

Monreal was on the transfer radar of Real Sociedad last summer but he has continued to stay put at the Emirates.

The 32-year-old star joined Arsenal in the summer of 2013 and he has assumed the position of the best left back at the club ever since.

Monreal is currently the only left back at Arsenal following injuries to Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have drawn a list of left back as targets for the January transfer window and they have included Monreal, Filipe Luis and Alberto Moreno of Liverpool.

Barcelona’s Jordi Alba is said to be in the want of a move away from Barcelona, and it appears as though the Catalan club are resigned to letting him leave.

Monreal is a key figure at Arsenal and it will be shocking if Emery allows him to leave anytime soon – the Gunners have a blend of Youth and experience, retaining the services of players as Monreal will help the younger general grow well.

Arsenal will play Newcastle United this weekend in the Premier league and they will be looking to secure their third consecutive win.
