Arsenal to agree deal for Danny Welbeck replacement

Losing Danny Welbeck to a long-term injury has knocked Arsenal back with surprise and shock. The race for the top four has intensified with Tottenham finding a way to claw back into the lead ahead of London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.

Unai Emery shored up areas in the squad when he took the reins of the outfit in the summer.

His plans as panned out, have been working. But the “Welbeck” loss has put more blocks of responsibilities on the shoulders of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette.

This could run the team out of balance and thread in fatigue amongst his frontline.

Arsenal have struggled to slice their opponents open in recent fixtures. Lucas Torreira late flipping drive against Huddersfield, prevented a further slip down the Premier League log.

Welbeck’s spark in the team has faded out and a hunt for his replacement is already on.

Brazilian Malcolm is on the Gunners cards. Malcolm has found settling down at the Nou Camp difficult. The 41 million euros summer transfer from the French Ligue is yet to hit the ground running at Barcelona.

Arsenal already have their sights on Ousmane Dembele, but it will be easier cutting a deal for Malcolm who has been linked with a move to China recently.
