While the fans of Arsenal are currently groaning at the state of club and calling for Arsene Wenger to sign top notch players, we hear that Francis Coquelin is joining Spanish La Liga giants Valencia.
Well, the January transfer window is very much and we know Arsene Wenger’s knack for signing players late on in any window, which leaves us with a glimmer of hope.
Reports emanating from Spain has claimed that Arsenal are making efforts to sign Real Madrid’s attacker Lucas Vazquez as a direct replacement for Chilean star Alexis Sanchez.
Despite the poor form of Christiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and some of the forwards of Los Blancos, Vazquez has managed two starts in the last eight La Liga games. Real Madrid are currently linked some star wingers and that will further push him down the selection pecking order of the club.
According to Don Balon, Arsene Wenger is a huge fan of the 26-year-old and he will sign him in the stead of Alexis Sanchez if he leaves.
Sanchez is currently free to speak with any club as he is in the final six months of his contract and he has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City..
Vazquez has no significant weaknesses in his game but his passing, crossing and defensive contribution is usually impressive. However, the major chunk of Arsenal fan base are hoping for a marquee or superstar signing.
Vazquez is currently valued at £13.50m according to transfermarkt.
