Arsenal are looking to get creative at the centre of the park. The north Londoners are currently keeping tabs on German midfielder Mario Gotze after the Dortmund star hinted he was eyeing a move to the Premier League, reports the Independent.
The midfielder enjoyed a long run at former club Bayern Munich playing 114 games, scoring 36 times and providing 24 assists.
However, he rejoined Dortmund after falling below the pecking order, losing first team action to other prolific attackers.
The German switched to former club Dortmund for a reported 19.8 million pounds. Gotze made 164 appearances for the outfit, scoring 35 goals and scored a whopping 53 assists.
However, he has hinted he wants to exit the club after an uninspiring and unimpressive run with Dortmund during his second stint at the club.
Adding him to the Gunners’ rank will definitely bolster the Gunners centre as they have lacked considerably in that area.
The Gunners finished sixth last term, which means they will be not be involved in any Champions League action next term.
New boss Unai Emery has added to the line-up that play under former French manager Arsene Wenger. Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Stephan Lichtsteiner Lucas Toerreira, Matteo Guendouzi and Bernd Leno have been added to their ranks.
