Having signed Aubameyang and Henrikh Mktarryan from Dortmund and Manchester united respectively during last month’s window, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly made 24-year-old attacker Nabil Fekir his prime target in the summer as he hopes to bolster his midfield ahead of the 2018-19 season.
The Frenchman was heavily linked with a move for the player during the previous transfer market, but nothing materialised before the close of the transaction period as Lyon refused to sanction his move to the Emirates Stadium.
According to the Mail, the 24-year-old midfielder is currently rated £45m by the club, but he might see his value rise up tremendously should he perform brilliantly for the Les Blues side at the World Cup which will be hosted by Russia later this year.
The Lyon Playmaker has been in fine form this season and he will surely fit into Wenger’s playing pattern should he consider to move out of the Ligue 1 side.
Many Gunners fans would want to see the player converted into a deep midfielder so as to help the team’s shaky performance at the back of the pitch.
The Gunners currently occupy the fifth position in the Premier table. They must avoid dropping points if they must stand a chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League competition.
