Arsenal were 2-0 victor over AC Milan last Thursday and both teams are currently preparing for the return leg which will take place at Emirates Stadium next week.
Barring the Europa League competition, both teams are reportedly set to battle each other for Udinese’s midfielder Jakub Jankto in the summer.
The news emerging from the North London club via Talksport suggests that the Gunners are leading the chase for Jankto who is also getting interests from the Rossoneri.
Jankto has maintained his fine form for the Serie A side throughout the campaign and the player’s agent has confirmed that both clubs are ready to slug it out for his signature when the summer transfer window begins.
While speaking over the speculation surrounding the 22-year-old’s future, Giuseppe Risotto who is Jankto’s agent told reporters that it was true that both clubs have made an official approach for his service but he refused to confirm whether Jankto would be moving out of the Serie A side or not.
With speculations linking Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey out of the Emirates Stadium in the summer, Wenger is hoping he successfully lures the player to North London ahead of the San Siro outfit.
The youngster who enjoys playing as a central midfielder, has 25 appearances for the club this season, scoring three goals and five assists. He has also established himself as a regular starter in Czech national squad after making his international debut last year.
He is currently valued at £13.50m according to transfermarkt.
