Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger still remains keen on signing Monaco winger Thomas Lemar despite his failure to capture the player during the previous transfer period, according to report.
It was reported that the 22-year-old refused to renew his contract with the Ligue 1 giants which means that there is a possibility that the Frenchman could be leaving by the end of the season.
Liverpool have been tipped as the next destination for the youngster who has established himself as one of the best wingers in the world. The Merseyside club are reportedly set to win the player’s signature ahead of Arsenal as they are on course to qualify for next season’s Champions League competition unlike the Gunners who are currently in the sixth position in this Premier League standings.
Lemar 22, has reportedly revealed his plan to join a club where he could feature in the UEFA Champions League competition, but he could be heading to the Emirates stadium in the summer as he stands a chance of appearing more regularly for the Gunners who are in search of a player to replace Alexis Sanchez whom they sold to Manchester United during the winter transfer window.
Should the France international youngster move out of the Ligue 1 Champions, he will join the list of players including Kylian Mbappe, Benjamin Mendy, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Bernardo Silva who all left for other clubs after establishing themselves while playing for Monaco.
