Arsenal front-runners for the signature of £25m goal-scoring attacking midfielder

Arsenal are ahead of Manchester City, Everton and Tottenham in the race to sign Norwich City’s midfielder James Maddison, who has been phenomenal for the Championship side throughout the season, according to the Mirror.

Maddison has found the back of the net in 15 games this season and he has also provided 11 assists for his teammates. Due to his exploits for the 14th-placed club in the Championship table, Maddison has been tipped for a big-money move to Premier League club next season.

It was earlier reported that the playmaker had been ruled out for six months after picking up a serious knee injury last week but that report has been dismissed as he’s going to return in time for pre-season tour, Keeping his suitors aware of his availability.

Norwich are hoping to release the youngster for nothing less than £25m this summer so as to make huge profit from his sale. He is contracted to the Yellow Canaries till 2021 but the fans of the club who are used to the favourable betting promo codes are aware that it would count for nothing should Arsenal finally get him in the summer.

Whoever succeeds Arsene Wenger will not be short of creativity for the midfield position as that is the major strength of the club. Nonetheless, the uncertainty surrounding the future of Santi Cazorla and the sale of Francis Coquelin in the January transfer window has necessitated the signing of another midfielder.’

Meanwhile, Manchester City are preparing for life after Yaya Toure and they are already in the search of the player that will play in his stead – the lure of signing a home grown midfielder is one that appeals to Pep Guardiola greatly. City have the funds to out-bid Arsenal for Maddison but he will prefer a move to Arsenal over regular game time.

Tottenham were inactive in the last summer transfer window but they will repay that with the signing of some players and Maddison is a target for them.
