Arsenal favourites to sign £27m Man United prime target

The January transfer window has hit full throttle and clubs already have their foot on the pedal.

Some goings have come as a shock, while other have had a relatively mild effect.

Arsenal are set to lose midfielder Aaron Ramsey to Juventus in the summer, but that news is old news. The latest making the rounds is their plotted move to sign Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Arsenal are keen to sign the 27-million-pounds-rated midfielder as boss Unai Emery seeks to strengthen their centre.

The 22-year-old who has capped seven times for the Italian national team, has been a regular figure on the pitch for Eusebia Di Francesco’s side and his capping showoffs have certainly caught the eyes of Premier League clubs.

Arsenal are being credited with interest but talks to sign him could take a tough twist with Manchester United said to have join the fray.

Pellegrini has a clause pinned to his contract and it is a small fee of 27 million pounds, which make it quite an attractive offer.

Gunners are in the market for Ramsey’s replacement and United’s hierarchy are ready to spend now that they have Jose Mourinho out of the way.

The Red Devils have bounced back to good health since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer filled the Portuguese’s shoes.

Pellegrini, however, will be unavailable till in the summer, which puts. Arsenal in a better position to sign him after Emery revealed he can’t sign players on a permanent basis this January.
