According to a report via the Mirror, Arsene Wenger is ready to make a shock move for Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani who is valued at £25million by the Serie A Champions.
The Gunners have faced huge defensive crisis this season, and the Frenchman is set to find a long-term solution ahead of the new upcoming season as he hopes to complete a summer move for Daniele Rugani.
Arsenal’s attack is currently one of the deadliest attacking threat in Premier League after Wenger added Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mktarryan to his team’s firepower during the winter window, but the defence are not ready for another season if the North London club must lay claim for any major trophy next season.
Rugani has been a longtime target for Arsene Wenger, but his approaches were constantly being turned down by Juventus who are not ready to sanction his move out of Turin for any price.
According to the Sun, Rugani is Arsenal’s prime target when the summer transfer window begins. The Sun further suggests that Arsenal are ready to make an official contact with the player’s representative, Davide Torchia, to discuss over a possible switch to the Emirates Stadium.
The 25-year-old could cost the Gunners at least £25m if they want to sign him ahead of other interested clubs.
Rugani has found it hard to feature regularly for the Serie A side, so he would have no reason to remain with the Scudetto Champions beyond this season. Though he was given a rare start by Maximiliano Allegri in Juventus’ win over Torino last weekend, but that might not be enough to convince the youngster to stay at Turin.
