Arsenal battle Manchester Clubs to sign €16m-rated no-nonsense CB

Premier League top Clubs Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City have all spoken with the representative of 18-year-old Dutch centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, over a potential move, this is according to reports.

De Ligt joined Dutch side Ajax as a 9-year-old and he steadily ascended to the highest grade of the Club. Following his impressive cameos for the side whenever he is called up, he was promoted to the senior team of Ajax in the October of 2016, having kept the record of the 2nd youngest goalscorer ever behind Clarence Seedorf at the Club.

The 18-year-old has even earned call up to the national team of Holland and he has attracted interest from several top European Clubs as they look to snap him up sooner.

Barcelona are reported to be the first Club to have enquired about his ability and they are looking to take advantage of their relationship with the Eridivisie side to lure him to Camp Nou.

Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo via the Sun has claimed that Ajax have also informed Barcelona that Arsenal, Manchester United and Man City are also in the chase for the player.

Arsenal are currently in need of an assured centre-back following the poor form of Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi. Man United currently have the best defensive record in the Premier League and even if they sign him, he will be a player for the future likewise Manchester City.

He is currently valued at 16,00 Mill. € according to transfermarkt.
