Arsenal battle Man United to sign highly rated talented winger

Arsenal remain keen on signing Benfica winger Andrija Zivkovic as they are eyeing a summer swoop for the player, according to speculations emanating from Portugal.

The Gunners have reportedly sent their scouts to spy on the promising 21-year-old on numerous occasions this season and they are happy with the feedback they received. They are now considering making an offer as soon as the summer transfer window begins so as to beat their Premier League rivals Manchester United to his signature.

Arsene Wenger has been his longtime admirer. He almost signed up the player from Partisan Belgrade in 2016 before he opted to join the Portuguese League Champions and the Frenchman is ready to bring him to the Emirates Stadium ahead of next season.

Portuguese media outlet O Jogo claims that Arsenal delegation were in the stands during Benfica’s 2-0 win over Feirense this weekend as they hope to have a discussion with the player’s representative over a possible switch to Emirates Stadium.

Despite showing early interest in Zivkovic, the North London club will have to slug it out with Manchester United who have also sent their scouts to spy on the player.

Manchester United boss José Mourinho wants a new winger in his team ahead of next season as there are uncertainties over Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford’s future at the club. Both players have seen their first-team action drastically reduced since the acquisition of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in January and they might be heading out of Old Trafford in the summer.
