Having seen their respective managers fumbled throughout the season, the boards of Arsenal and Chelsea are considering a move for Italian manager Carlo Anceloti before the start of the 2018-19 season.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is set to end his two-year stay at Stamford Bridge as he is not in good terms with his employers. The Italian tactician wasn’t happy with the financial support given him by Roman Abramovich during the winter transfer window as he claimed it wasn’t enough to make any high-profile signing unlike rival clubs.
According to Conte, the directors were unable to sign some players he would have loved to work with during the last window and that has prevented his team from competing for the trophy.
On their part, the Blues directors are furious with the manager as he is not getting the right results. The West London club are currently on a two-match losing streak after their 2-1 defeat to Manchester United and a 1-0 defeat to league leaders Manchester City on Sunday.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is almost certain to leave the Emirates Stadium in the summer due to huge calls from the Gunners faithfuls for his contract termination by the end of the current campaign.
Just like Chelsea, Arsenal are in one of their worst form as they have lost four back-to-back matches after their shocking 2-1 lost to Brighton and Hove Albion yesterday at the AMEX stadium.
Anceloti is surely a force to reckon with in terms of English football. The former Chelsea boss has the experience to bring either club back to their best form, but no one could tell if both clubs would be ready to spend big to get his signature in the summer.
