Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly on their toes as they could be making a move for Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain in the summer.
The Argentine is set to move out of Juventus by the close of the season after being declared surplus to requirements by the club’s hierarchy. The 23-goal poacher has been influential for the Old Lady this season in their contest for the Serie A title for the 7th consecutive season.
Despite his exploits for the Allianz Stadium outfit this season, his services are no longer needed and he could be heading to the Premier League next season, according to reports.
Chelsea have endured a disappointing display at the final half of the pitch this season. Alvaro Morata, whose main function is to score goals, has failed to reach his full potentials for the Blues.
The Spaniard only managed just 11 goals in all competitions, and he could be replaced with Higuain who has a better goalscoring ratio.
Just as Chelsea, Arsenal have also been poor in all departments throughout the season and that is responsible for their inability to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Danny Welbeck, Lacazette, Mesut Ozil, and Alex Iwobi have all failed to perform to their best throughout the season and the Gunners are hoping to lure the 30-year-old to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Higuain has proven himself as one of the best goalscorers in the world after netting 55 goals in 101 matches for Juventus since 2016.
