Arsenal agree to sell Chamberlain to Chelsea on one condition
While Arsenal are reveling in the ambiance of Alexandre Lacazette’s debut goal, Arsene Wenger is in dire need of keeping his squad together as he aims to bounce back in the League next season.
Arsenal’s versatile winger Alex Oxlade Chamberlain has been offer to the Premier League Champions Chelsea in a swap deal for Serbian international, and Man United target Nemanja Matic, reports the Express.
The future of Oxlade Chamberlain became a subject of huge speculation when he reportedly rejected Arsenal’s contract but Liverpool are thought to be front runners for his signature.
Towards the close of last season, Arsene Wenger budged to Antonio Conte’s 3-4-3 formation, and Chamberlain displaced Bellerin to a place. It is understood that Conte is looking for an option to Victor Moses in the right wing position, hence he sees Chamberlain as a perfect fit.
Arsenal must may be forced to sell the player if he doesn’t sign a new contract so that he will not go on a free transfer next season. The report further claims Wenger wants a win win situation and so, he has offered Chelsea the player in return for Matic.
Chelsea have agreed a deal with Monaco for Tiemoue Bakayoko and his imminent arrival has seen Matic training on his own and waiting to leave the Club but i’m not sure how he’d fit in at Arsenal.
Man United are also interested in Matic but given the transfer blow Mourinho dealt Conte in the deal for Lukaku, the Blues will likely not sell their player to Man United.
