Arsenal agree £6m transfer fee for in-demand World Cup star

Arsenal will accept a paltry transfer fee of £6million for goalkeeper David Ospina, per reports.

The Gunners have completed deals for Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira. However, the arrival of some of the aforementioned stars may have signaled the end of some of old players of Arsenal.

It is safe to say Arsenal now have three top-notch goalkeepers but Ospina knows he’d hardly get game time as he is now third in the pecking order. The player now wants a move away from Arsenal and his suitors from Turkey appear to have cooled off their interest, leaving Boca Juniors in pole position to sign him.

His agent Lucas Jaramillo revealed that Ospina would fancy a move  to a European club but they would consider offers from Boca Juniors.

“[Ospina] had an excellent World Cup, and it is important for him to keep up that form,”

“We had already considered the Boca option but it is not easy right now economically for a club like Boca to pay that much for a goalkeeper.

“He would like to come to Boca but it is not the time, we are focused on staying in Europe because he is relatively young.”

Ospina joined Arsenal in the summer of 2014 but he’s never enjoyed regular game time. His best bet at playing regularly is away from the Emirates. With his quality, he should be able to get a club even in the Premier league.
