Armenian FA chief bemoans lack of game time for Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Armenia international and Manchester United new boy Henrikh Mkhitaryan is oblivious of why Jose Mourinho has left him out of the Red Devil’s team more often than not, claims the Armenian Football Federation president, per reports.

Mkhitaryan joined Manchester United from Borrussia Dortmund in the summer in a £27 million deal but he has struggled to get into the first team of United – he first Premier League start was in the Manchester derby in September in which he was substituted at half time.

The versatile midfielder is yet to lace his boot for United since then and United’s manager Jose Mourinho has explained that the 27-year-old star isn’t ready for English football.

Nonetheless, Mhkitaryan is yet at a loss why Jose Mourinho has repeatedly failed to pick him, this is according to Ruben Hayrapetyan.

‘I cannot know what the Manchester manager is thinking about,’ said the Armenian FA chief, according to Armenpress.

‘I have talked about Mkhitaryan, he also doesn’t know what Jose Mourinho is thinking.

‘Mkhitaryan trains and is in good shape, but no one knows the reason.’

Mkhitaryan was yet left out of United’s squad for their Premier League clash with Sean Dyche’s Burnley side and this has stirred a lot of questions from fans and pundits as to why Mourinho signed the player.

This season has been somewhat torturous for Jose Mourinho who  has found it difficult to stick with a particular first XI – Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Juan Mata have all been bit part players too.

For the amount spent on Mkhitaryan, he should be given the opportunity to prove his mettle. He might just be taking time to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League.
