Kurt Zouma’s spell with Chelsea may come to an abrupt end in the coming summer following Antonio Conte’s lost in confidence of the player. Nonetheless, he might be offered an escape route to Old Trafford claims a report by the Sun.
Zouma displaced Chelsea legend John Terry at the heart of defense last season under Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink but was forced to a hiatus after he picked up an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the February of 2016 that ruled out of action for six months.
Conte has preferred Azpilicueta as his third centre-back despite Zouma being return. The French star has managed only two Premier League starts in seven appearances for the Blues and would not be trusted as long term replacement for the outgoing skipper John Terry.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for Southampton’s defender Virgil Van Dijk and it is believed that their interest in the player stems from Conte’s apparent lost in confidence in Zouma. Chelsea will replace John Terry with an assured star as soon as he leaves.
Meanwhile the Red Devils defense has been bedeviled by injuries with Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones on the recovery pane. Zouma was trusted by Mourinho during his second spell with Chelsea that culminated in a Premier League trophy.
Jose Mourinho, known for his pragmatic nature in the transfer window, may tempt Conte with a huge offer for the player he believes on.
However, Chelsea has no business selling him given his age. It usually takes time to get back to form after a long injury lay-off, Zouma is in the stage of shaping up well after the injury and he’s sure to get back to form.
