Antonio Conte confirms triple injury blow for Chelsea ahead of Man United clash

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has ruled out trio Ross Barkley, Tiemoue Bakayoko and David Luiz out of Sunday’s crunch tie against Manchester United, according to reports.

Manchester United play host to arch rivals Chelsea in the League and it appears that Conte will play without one or two of his key players.

Chelsea are currently three points behind Manchester United on the League standings and any result other than a win for the League defending Champions might dent their chances of ending the season in top four places.

Although, Conte cannot make the case of injury because he has 98% of his squad available, he will need all of his players to be fit in this closing stage of the League.

Speaking ahead of the crunch tie with Manchester United, he was asked of the availability of Barkley, Bakayoko and Luiz and he responded thus:

“No they are out. “All the other players are available.”

Barkley had not featured for Everton from the start of the season before he completed £15m move in January. He has not featured in the last four games of Chelsea due to a hamstring injury.

Luis has been struggling with an ankle injury since last year and he has also missed all last four games of Chelsea. Meanwhile, Bakayoko, who is a favourite for Conte has also been battling with a knock he sustained in training.
