Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was relatively inactive at the opening of the summer transfer window but the Italian tactician has been able to silence the fans of the Blues with the brisk business he has done so far.
If reports making the rounds is anything to go by, Antonio Candreva is on the verge of sealing a move with Chelsea as their fifth summer signing, according to report.
Since completing the signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, transfer activities for Chelsea have been halted but Conte is unsated with the number of players in his rank. He is poised to go another better and Candreva has emerged as a prime target for the Blues.
The good news for Chelsea is that Inter Milan are willing to listen to offers for Candreva but his signing could dissuade the San Siro outfit from selling Perisic to Man United, claims the report.
Conte has been on the search for a winger that can give Victor Moses a run for his money, and it appears that Candreva fits his plan for the upcoming season. The pair worked together when Conte was managing the Azurri’s and a reunion is in the offing.
According to transfermarketweb, Chelsea may have to part with about £38million to sign the 30-year old winger. This will amount to bad business as it is given that the player has hit the twilight of his career.
But we wait to see how it pans out.
