Chelsea are on the cusp of landing Italy international and Inter Milan winger Antonio Candreva on a permanent deal, according to report.
Although Antonio Conte has bolstered the squad of the Blues this summer, he is poised to strengthen the wing position of his team. Having lost out of the signing of main target Danilo, the Blues turned their attention to 30-year-old winger Candreva.
Chelsea are currently without option for Victor Moses as the right wing back and Conte has identified Candreva as the player to give the Nigerian star a run for his money.
Although there were reports that Inter Milan were unwilling to let the player leave on Friday but Italian journalist Enzo Bucchioni claims the player is set to join the Blues in a deal worth £22.6m regardless.
Bucchioni who writes for Tuttomercato Web said: ‘At the same time, the Nerazzurri [Inter] are selling Candreva to Chelsea for €25m (£22.6m).
‘The British had offered defender [Andreas] Christensen, 21, in part-exchange. Inter disagreed.’
The transfer market is very much wide open and anything can still happen before the close of the window.
Chelsea already have quality on their side but they will be participating in the Champions League and other competitions which means they could do with more signings to have at least two top-notch in every position.
Candreva is 30, and he may need time to adapt to the pace and rigours of the Premier League. It is said that he played for Conte in the National team, and the boss want a link up.
