Manchester United and France international striker Anthony Martial could be on his way out of Old Trafford in the summer as he has reportedly suspended his new contract talks with the 20-time Premier League Champions.
It was earlier reported via the Sun that the 22-year-old was on the verge of extending his contract with the Red Devils but there seems to be a twist to the player’s reported contract extension as RMC Sports suggests that negotiations between the clubs and Martial’s agent has been suspended.
According to RMC Sport, the Frenchman has stalled the contract talk as he isn’t convinced that he will get regular playing time in Mourinho’s team due to the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.
Despite a bright display from the Frenchman in the first half of the season, Anthony Martial has become a bit-part player in the closing half of the season as the Portuguese manager prefers using Alexis Sanchez from the start ahead of the Frenchman.
Tottenham and Inter Milan are reportedly monitoring the player’s situation at the Theater of Dreams and they are willing to launch a bid for the impressive striker in the next transfer period should he fail to commit his future to Manchester United.
Meanwhile, José Mourinho’s men are set for Antonio Conte’s men when both sides meet on Sunday at Old Trafford.
United will hope to emerge victorious so as to put more pressure on Manchester City who are at the top of the Premier League log. The Blues are desperately in need of a win in order to boost their chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League competition.
Martial is currently valued at 65,00 Mill. €.
