Another injury blow as £70k-a-week star player is ruled out of season
The list of injured players for Manchester United keeps piling up at a time when they need most of the players to be fit and see out the rest of the season.
The latest player to join the injury train at Old Trafford is England international Luke Shaw, who barely played 10 minutes in Man United draw against Swansea last weekend.
He left the pitch limping earlier on in the game but the seriousness of the injury was not ascertained. However, latest scan report revealed that the injury plagued defender damaged his foot and will probably miss the rest of the season, reports the Guardian.
The report must have come as a blow to Jose Mourinho who is in the running for a fourth place finish in the Premier League and the Europa Cup trophy.
Luke Shaw joins Chris Smalling, Phill Jones and Marcos Rojo in the list of injured defenders for United. Eric Bailly who limped off the same game is also a major doubt for our Europa League semi-final against Celta Vigo this Thursday.
Shaw, who currently earns £70,000 , has been left on the fringes more often than not since Mourinho took charge of the helms of United. His future was put in doubt since Mourinho criticized him as he does not believe in him.
With the defense of Mourinho now thread bare, he’ll be forced to make up a makeshift back four as Unitsd begin their run of six games in 17 days to end their season.
