Announcement soon: £16m-rated CB agrees personal terms to complete Man United transfer

The final month of the summer transfer window is upon us where clubs in the Premier league will be able to sell until the end of the month but won’t be able to buy after 9th.

English and Manchester United defender Chris Smalling has agreed personal terms to join newly promoted Premier league side Woverhampton Wanderers, this is according to reports.

Smalling has been a key figure for Manchester United since Mourinho was appointed and the defender has never failed to draw heavy criticism to himself, and he has been heavily linked with a move away from the Theatre of Dreams.

Jose Mourinho has laid bare his desire to add two more signings to his squad before the close of the window and he has prioritised the signing of a centre-back, with reports linking the Red Devils heavily with a move for Toby Alderweireld of Tottenham.

United have a chunk of centre-back, apparently, they will have to cash in on one of their CBs before they can sign another one.

The Daily Express cited a report by  journalist Peter Harding, with claims that the 27-year-old star has agreed to seal a move with Nuno Espírito Santo men.

He tweeted: “Chris Smalling has agreed personal terms on a deal that will see the England defender move to Molineux and join Wolves.”

Although we cannot ascertain the veracity of this report, it will be bad for United and Mourinho to allow Smalling leaves.

Mourinho has a knack for giving up on his players.

Transfermarkt has valued Smalling at £16.20m.
