English attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard is reportedly set to open contract talks with Manchester United, this is according to reports.
Since the appointment of Luis Van Gaal as the manager of the Red Devils, Lingard has been a key member of their squad and he has continued to develop and improve under the auspices of Jose Mourinho.
He started his career with the academy of United but after breaking into the first team of the side, he was unable to stake a claim in the first team. He is vastly experienced in the sense that he was sent to various loan spells across European clubs.
He had put pen to paper on a four year £100,000 per week deal last year but the club are looking to hand him an improved offer.
According to the Metro, Man United values Lingard and they are wary of allowing the player enter the final year of his contract like trio Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Luke Shaw.
Lingard is yet to find the back of the net this season even though he scored 13 goals in all competitions last term, but the entire team of United are just beginning to find their footing, it is hope that he’d come good.
He is also a key figure in the Three Lions squad.
