Chelsea survived a scare last weekend when they stung Manchester City in Stamford Bridge.
And now talks doing the rounds is the likely possibility of making extra pairs of shirts and shorts for Napoli defender Hysaj Elseid in January.
Chelsea appeared to have been hoodwinked, deceived when they downplayed talks of dipping into the market for reinforcements.
The Blues though, did not dumb down their explanation over the need to sign new players in January. But Sarri’s team is gradually running out of fuel and it is evident they’ll need to fill themselves up when the year turns over.
Elseid has been strongly linked to join Chelsea since his transfer was completely butchered by his club Napoli in the summer.
Hopes of his reunion with former boss Maurizio Sarri have been kept aglow, and his move seems closer than ever.
Journalist Emanuele Cammarot has affirmed that Elseid will reunite with his “mentor” Sarri.
Napoli is prepared to let him leave, says Cammarot. Chelsea were served a summer ban by Napoli, but that could easily be run over by the English side, claims Cammarot.
“Napoli want the €50m from the clause and not a penny less.”
“The agent will try around €40m, but in the end they’ll meet in the middle at €45m.” Added Cammarot.
“All that’s left is to know if it’ll happen in June or January.”
