Tammy Abraham could join on-form Wolves for the rest of the season. The Chelsea striker’s loan at Championship side Aston Villa could be axed this month as Chelsea look to ship him out of the club.
The Blues are said to favour his move to join Wolverhampton. It is understood Wolves’ interest in the 21-year-old had lingered for some time, to get Chelsea entering the fray.
This will come as a huge blow for Villa, who are currently chasing a return to the Premier League under Dean Smith, following long years of absence.
Smith was hopeful of keeping the player, who is currently the competition’s highest goalscorer, till the end of the season. But a move to Wolverhampton could put a spanner in the works for all he has plan for Villa.
The Chelseaman has racked up a tally of 16 goals in the Championship this campaign and the London club will activate the recall clause.
Abraham, however, is not the only striker that has been axed. Ross McCormack has also been farmed out and is currently with Scottish side Motherwell, as he plans his way back to recovery.
McCormack has had frustrating years at Villa Park and is hopeful returning to his former club can get him in the spotlight again.
The 32-year-old is on a five-month loan at the Scottish outfit.
