Despite the defeat to Stoke City on Saturday, Arsene Wenger had insisted that he’d have to sell some players before attempting to buy any. The headcount of players at Arsenal is a little over 30 and the Gunners manager is having headache managing his large squad.
According to report, Arsenal are close to completing the transfers of defensive duo Cohen Bramall and Carl Jenkinson on loan moves to Birmingham City.
Jenkinson has seen his stock fallen for Arsenal since he picked up an injury while on loan at West Ham United. He returned to Arsenal last term but his form left so much to be desired. He was on the radar of London side Crystal Palace last term but he stayed put at Arsenal and made just one league appearance.
Jenkison currently has three years on his current contract with Arsenal but he is keen on a move away from the Emirates and he’s sure to get playing time at Championship side Birmingham.
Meanwhile, Cohen Bramal joined Arsenal from non-league side Hednesford Town but he has been impressive for the B team of Arsenal and he even showed brilliant in the Gunner pre-season games. First team experience will accelerate his development.
Harry Rednapp is looking to return the Blues to the Premier League and without strengthening his squad, he may be unable to achieve that.
A massive clear out is expected at Arsenal before the close of the window and it has started with the sale of Gabriel Paulista to Valencia.
