Manchester United have advanced talks with Spanish Champions Real Madrid to secure the signing of transfer long term target Alvaro Morata, this is according report.
Following lack of game time at the Santiago Bernabeu, Morata had informed his close associates of his desire to leave the Club. Even before then, Jose Mourinho had placed the Spaniard at the top of his transfer wishlist as he plots to secure the Premier League title.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic departed the Fortress of Old Trafford but Mourinho thinks his absence will not be felt if Morata steps into the same role for the Red Devils.
Talks have been been reportedly ongoing for a deal to see Morata join United but for a disagreement over a transfer fee between Madrid and United.
There were reports earlier this week that Morata’s agent and father had met with the proprietors of Madrid to accelerate the players transfer to Old Trafford. That report appears like a rumours since nothing has been heard.
However, according to Marca this morning, an agreement between Madrid and Man United could be reached within a few hours from now.
Real Madrid have been holding out for a bogus £70million against Man United’s initial offer of £60m. The report by Marca claims Jose Mourinho’s side have now offered £66million for the player’s services – we understand that this could be enough to persuade Los Blancos to sell him to United.
Despite starting in only 14 La Liga games, Morata scored 15 goals for Zinedine Zidane’s side last season and has showed prospect.
Mourinho has promised Morata that he would make him the man to lead his attack.
