Almost done: Man United on the brink of signing Spanish DM to deal

United are ready to hand out a new deal to Ander Herrera to keep him tied down to the outfit.

Herrera will be out of contract at the end of the season, and looked keen to leave since nothing was mapped, before now to secure his future at the outfit.

It is understood the Spaniard has been given the freedom hold contract talks with foreign clubs. However, United are reluctant to see him leave.

Interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has persuaded the player to consider committing his future in the club.

It is easy to conclude that Herrera has been pinned to his plans for United afterall, before sought-after Mauricio Pochettino takes the helm–a plan on the horizon.

But if United can’t dish out an enticing deal to keep him at the outfit, Herrera may be allowed to walk free in the summer.

There had been interest from Barcelona over the star, in May last year, according to ESPN. Herrera has a solid relationship with Barcelona manager Ernesto Velverde during his stint at the San Mamés Stadium and a reunion could be on the line.
