Almost done: Juventus receive £8.7m bid for Mehdi Benatia

Arsenal have receive a huge boost in their quest to bolster their ailing backline after reports claim Juventus will allow Mehdi Benatia leave this month, per reports.

The North African is currently down the selection pecking order of Allegri and has been subjected to only five Serie A games this season. Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Daniele Rugani are favoured to play ahead of the 31-year-old star.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have decided to allow the player leave and it appears that he will end up in the Premier League.

Arsenal and Fulham have been strongly linked with a move for the Moroccan but the Gunners are in pole position to sign him.

Sky Sports Italia claim Clubs in Clubs in China, Qatar and the UAE have indicated their interested in him, with 10 million euros (£8.7m) already tabled for his signature by Al-Duhail in Qatar.

Juventus are said to be already considering the bid for the player.
