Almost done: Chelsea to announce another deal after Gonzalo Higuain’s confirmation

Fenerbahce are in talks with Chelsea for the signing of out-of-favour midfielder Danny Drinkwater, according to reports.

Drinkwater arrived Chelsea from Leicester City in the summer of 2017 with the pedigree of a sturdy defensive midfielder. However, his stock has reduced since then.

He was in and out of the sidelines due to injuries last season and managed only 12 appearances in the League. Under Sarri, he is yet to feature for Chelsea this season and the manager has told him he’s free to leave.

West Ham are thought to be interested in signing the former Manchester United star but Sabah have now claimed Fenerbahce are front-runners for his signature.

The The Yellow Canaries are looking to fortify their midfield before the close of this window and they have also been linked with the signing of Leicester City’s Adrien Silva.

The report claims the 28-year-old star wants to remain in the Premier League but he would consider leaving if no concrete offer is made for him.

He is tied to a Chelsea contract until 2022 and is not expected to leave cheaply.
