Much have been floating about Argentina international Gonzalo Higuain’s move to Stamford Bridge in a bid to resurrect his career, following stunted efforts at the San Siro.
Chelsea had earlier dropped a bid to sign the 31-year-old in the summer of 2018, but Higuain dumped the offer and instead joined AC Milan where his form is gradually peeling off.
The striker has sounded out he wants to leave the San Siro to reunite with former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea.
Blues will be looking to hammer out a good deal for the loan star as reports claim the player’s agent will be travelling to London to meet with Chelsea officials.
Higuain is a highly regarded frontman, good with his legs, and could be the saviour Chelsea need to break the jinx as they continue to struggle to find goals, despite their lethality up front.
It became more than just troubling concern for Sarri after seeing his side dominate possession throughout the night during their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg 1-0 defeat at Wembley to Poch’s men.
Blues were without Morata up front, who was reported to be out injured, and experience playmaker Hazard was forced to play through the middle.
