Gonzalo Higuain is set to become a Chelsea player in the next 48 hours.
The goalscoring machine, termed as a “jackpot” by Blues boss Maurizio Sarri will join Chelsea for a six-month loan.
Higuain’s loan spell at the San Siro with Serie A giants AC Milan will be axed as he reunites with Sarri this month.
The Chelsea boss needs a striker since available options Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have not been producing the goods this campaign.
Sarri is hopeful the Argentina international’s arrival will give his squad the strength they need up front.
The 31-year-old will arrive in London to undergo a medical after Chelsea and Juventus agreed a deal for the player, reports the Mirror.
If Higuain lights up Chelsea’s attack, owner Roman Abramovich could further sanctioned his stay, extending it by another 12 months.
Higuain was in dazzling form under Sarri, scoring 36 goals two seasons ago under the Italian.
Meanwhile, Sarri has said he is confident about getting the options he need to beef up things in the squad.
Sarri has identified that Cesc Fabregas should be replaced, and Zenit St Petersburg’s Leandro Peredes is top on the Blues priority list, after initial target Nicollo Barella was confirmed to be staying put at Cagliari.
