The Premier League Champions Chelsea have completed the transfer of English youngster Fankaty Dabo on a season long loan move to Vitesse Arnhem, this is according to Chelsea official Site.
Dabo joined Chelsea in 2007 at the U-12 level in 2007 and ascended the grades of the Club until the April of 2016 when he broke into the senior team of the Blues – he had an appearance for Chelsea in the game against Swansea but on the bench in that April.
The full back spent the second half of last season on loan to Swindon Town but he will be at Dutch side Vitesse for the whole of next season.
Chelsea have had a long standing relationship Vitesse as players like Lewis Bayern, Nathaniel Brown and several Chelsea youngsters have spent time on loan with the Club. Dabo inquired from his aforementioned colleagues about the Club and they seem to give him a soothing response, he reckoned:
“I look forward to getting to know the staff and to become integrated as quickly as possible in the group. I’m ready and I am hopeful for a good year.” reports the Mail.
Dabo becomes the 20th Chelsea youngster to make a loan switch to Vitesse but sadly for us, virtually all of our promising youngsters end up lacing their boots for other Clubs. The likes of Nathan Ake, Nathaniel Chalobah and Tammy Abraham should be considered.
