The challenge for Arsene Wenger is not just to bolster his team, the French tactician is having trouble getting his players to agree new contract terms and so, their future with the Club is uncertain.
Chile international and Arsenal star striker Alexis Sanchez reveal that he’s made his mind up about his future but he was taciturn about the specific Club he’ll be playing for next term, reports the Guardian.
Despite being heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates Arsene Wenger has been adamant that Sanchez would not be making a move but the Chilean striker has refused to put pen to paper on a deal.
Arsenal may be forced to cash in on the workaholic striker as he’ll leave on a free next season if he refuses to sign a new deal and Arsenal do not sell him now.
Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint Germain have all lined up as suitors of the player but the Citizens lead the chase of the star as Pep Guardiola looks to reunite with the star. We understand that £50m have been lined up by Man City for the player.
Sanchez is currently away in Russia with the National team of Chile for the Confederations Cup. Ahead of the final showdown against Germany, Sanchez was quizzed on possibly being a teammate of Claudio Bravo at Manchester City, and he said;
“Right now I am focused on the Confederations Cup. When this is finished, I will see if I stay or go. I don’t know.”
Asked if he is clear on what he wants to do, the 28-year-old added: “Yes it’s clear, but I can’t tell you.”
He was further asked by Skysports if he would sign an Arsenal deal: “I don’t know my friend, I don’t know,” he said.
It will be a huge blow and a setback for Arsenal to lose their most important player. Despite playing in a unfamiliar position for the whole of last season, Sanchez scored 24 League goals.
