There is some good news for the Arsenal fans after all, as it is reported that the Gunners are closing to announcing the capture of their second summer signing.
Reports from France can confirm that Arsenal have made a headway in the process of securing the signature of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette. French publication claim that the striker has finally agreed to sign a 5-year deal, and medical process is expected to commence in two days time.
This comes as a surprise since it was reported last week that the deal was off, leaving the likes of Attletico Madrid and Liverpool in pole position to secure his services. However, if L’Equipe are to be taken seriously, it then means that we have secured for ourselves one of the best strikers in Europe.
Lacazette has seen his stock rise over the years, as he continues to perform consistently at top level, scoring goal after goal from his boots. Just last season, the French international chalked up 36goals for Lyon in as many games he played, and that has the Arsenal fans licking their lips over the thought of having the 26-year-old don their jersey.
Truly they have all cause to be happy since Lacazette’s arrival paves the way for Oliver Giroud to exit the Emirates stadium. Giroud managed a modest 16 goals last term which pales in comparison to what his countryman brings to the table. A move to West Ham seem to be on the cards for him if reports doing the round happens be true.
