Chelsea may announce a deal for their 5th summer signing if all goes to plan as they are reportedly set to hold closed door meetings with Real Madrid defender Danilo’s representatives.
Brazilian publication UOL reports that the player’s solicitors are set to arrive Europe in a bid to broker a move for the 25-year-old. Although it is also reported that Chelsea are not the only contenders to the players signature, with Juventus also scheduled to hold talks with the player’s camp as well.
The report goes on to say that both clubs are keen on matching the defender’s valuation of £25 million including £4 million in bonuses. However, it is reported that Danilo is in no particular hurry to leave the Spanish capital despite being utilised sparingly in the Real team. The reason for this is not far-fetched as it is reported that he enjoys life in Madrid, with his current contract still valid until the summer of 2021.
However, it appears he is on his own since the Zinedine Zidane side have reportedly lined up some potential replacements already – Real Sociedad’s Alvaro Odriozola, Villarreal fullback Mario Gaspar, Hoffenheim’s Jeremy Toljan and Valencia ace Cancelo are rumoured to be on the Zidane’s wish-list of defenders. And that could yet force him to complete the move to Stamford Bridge.
