Arsenal striker Lucas Perez feels hard done by over the recent treatment meted on his by the Gunners and he wants out of the Club.
Arsene Wenger yielded to the voice of reason last summer to sign a potent striker and he unearthed Lucas Perez from La Liga outfit Deportivo Lacuruna in a £17million deal. The player was welcomed and so much was expected of him as Wenger’s judgement could not be questioned.
Perez has since struggled to live up to his bidding albeit it is being attributed to Arsene Wenger’s dislike for the striker. Perez has been a bit-part player for Arsenal, starting in only two Premier League games for the Emirates Landlords.
He has been tipped with a move back to his former Club Deportivo but Arsenal are playing hard ball over his transfer fee. The La Liga Club had offered £8.1millilon for the player’s services which was rebuffed and his agent has now confirmed that Club are desperate to sign him and they have upped their bid for him, reports the Express.
Perez dons the no.9 jersey for Arsenal but the squad no was taken by Arsenal new boy Alexandre Lacazette even without informing Perez.
Perez’s agent, Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle, told PA Sport: “Deportivo made an offer a week ago. It is a permanent deal and worth more than Nolito’s move to Sevilla.
“Of course (he was told he would play more). Lucas signed for Arsenal and was the happiest person in the world and with all of his dreams to fulfil.
“Would you not be angry and sad and upset if you had your squad number taken without being asked?”
Methink he wasn’t given the opportunity to shine. Despite the lengthy absence of Danny Welbeck, he was preferred over the Spaniard on his return.
